Day 344 of 365 Days of Silver ~~ Grateful for Pecan Pie

“We must have a pie. Stress cannot exist in the presence of a pie.”
~~ David Mamet

I love pie. All kinds of pie. Pumpkin is a favorite. And coconut cream.

But one of the seasons’s best is pecan pie.

Proof there is God because why else would there be something as delicious as pecans–and therefore pecan pie–unless it was to bless us and dazzle our senses.

Especially heated up (if it’s not already fresh from the oven) and served with a few scoops of ice cream. In this case pumpkin ice cream.

And pecan comes with some many memories.

The pecan trees from when I was in fourth grade in Albany. GA.

All the pecan trees in my mother’s home where she retired in Arkansas.

Pecans are probably my favorite nut.

And so tonight I am grateful for pecan pie.

And for the fact that even though I fell asleep on the couch, I woke up in time to post this on time so that I haven’t missed a 365 Days of Silver yet.

Namasté,
B.G. Thomas
