Day 261 of 365 Days of Silver ~~ So Incredibly Grateful For a Day at the Ocean

The ocean stirs the heart, inspires the imagination and brings eternal joy to the soul.
~~ Wyland

The voice of the sea speaks to the soul. The touch of the sea is sensuous, enfolding the body in its soft, close embrace.
~~ Kate Chopin

In one drop of water are found all the secrets of all the oceans.
~~ Kahlil Gibran

The weather forecast cast all week said thunderstorms thunderstorms thunderstorms. It looked like my number one desire for the week wouldn’t happen. And that was to go to Playalinda Beach—which amongst it thirteen “piers” was a very gay friendly beach—and very…skin friendly as well.

Then quite suddenly the predictions went out the window. It turned to no rain before two in the afternoon and then 50% chance of scattered thunderstorms. And even sick people can lay on a blanket and enjoy the sun.
I am happy to say we got to go after all!

It was a challenge because the website gave us the wrong address, but we finally got there.

And it was a stunningly gorgeous day. Oh the beauty! So powerful!

Of course we heard the roar of the waves even before we saw it. As a reserve rather than some huge beach like Cocoa Beach or Miami Beach, instead of being confronted by wall to wall blankets and thousands of people, each pier had maybe fifty to seventy-five. You park and cross over all this protected vegetation on a wooden walkway, or pier. When we parked we couldn’t see the beach yet. But as I said, we could hear it. And oh…. We could smell the salt on the air.
Then we walked out over the rise…and there it was.

The edge of the world.

Once more this week I was in awe…. There is nothing like the sight of the place from where we all come—the very womb from which all life sprang.

We made our way down the beach, set up “camp” and had a lovely day. Relaxed, napped, walked, wadded (talk about a powerful experience) into the crashing waves, collected shells and were amazed the wildlife—so many kinds of birds, as well as tiny crabs and fish and insects. And the plant life! Beautiful!

We got a lot of sun as well.

I am so grateful that the beach happened. Life is so good.

Ask.

Believe.

Receive.

Wow, did I receive.

Namasté,
B.G. Thomas
